Winter Wishes is an annual tradition that ASB hosts right before Christmas. The way it works is that students have the opportunity to wish for something for either themselves or their friends, in case they can’t afford it themselves and ASB buys it for them.
Winter wishes have been going on for over 5 years and the idea originally came from one of Mrs. Tobias’ friends from the California Activities Directors Association(CADA). “When gifts are wished from people to friends, it’s my favorite part because there are students who want to give things but they don’t have jobs or they don’t want to ask their family for money so it gives them an opportunity to show their love to their friends without having to worry about the money part,” said Mrs. Tobias. The biggest wish ASB has granted is they have given an oven to a family in need of one.
This year’s Winter Wishes are going to be a little different. This year ASB is going to go to classrooms to surprise students.
