The 2025 Winter Formal date is February 8 from 7:00 to 11:00 PM. This year’s theme is the Golden Gala.
Prices for formal tickets are $35 until January 31st, and from February 3-7, the prices increase to $40. The location for the formal will be the east gym at the former DHS site.
Students who purchase tickets will be checked for eligibility to go to the dance. This means anyone buying tickets will need to have a 2.0 GPA with no more than one F for a class. Students who intend to bring guests who do not attend DHS must have a signed and approved guest pass for them to enter. All students must have a valid ID picture, and they should not enter any later than 9:30, or they won’t be allowed to participate.
The Winter Formal is a chance to mingle with friends, listen to music, and dance. However, there are rules for behavior when attending. No student should be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. There is also to be no fighting, harassment, or disruptive behavior. There should be no sexually suggestive dancing or back-to-front dancing and no excessive public displays of affection. This is in accordance with the Student Handbook, which states, ” Guest passes must be signed by an administrator of the school where the guest student attends and returned to an assistant principal at DHS no later than three days prior to the date of the dance and will be initiated for approval…Students must have a 2.0 GPA or better, less than 18 negative attendance marks, and no more than one “F’” to attend DHS dances. Students will not be allowed to attend a dance if they have a school debt. Eligibility for dances will be determined on the day of the ticket sale or day of the event (if tickets aren’t sold in advance)…Students and guests are required to maintain the same standards set by DUSD that are established for any school-sponsored event or activity. Students dancing in an indecent or extreme manner will not be allowed to remain at the dance. “ Furthermore, the dress code for both gentlemen and ladies should be appropriate formal wear, adhering to the school dress code guidelines.
