On March 3, 2025, Dinuba High School hosted its annual Winter Sports Banquet, honoring athletes from the school’s soccer, basketball, wrestling, and cheer teams. The event recognized performances throughout the season, with each sport’s head coach selecting one player to receive the “Most Valuable Player” (MVP) award.
Starting with boys’ basketball, athletic director Jeff Schofield awarded Josiah Ochoa MVP. Schofield says, “He’s been in our program for the last 3 years…he might be the best shooter we’ve ever had here. He had a game this year where he gave 13 three-pointers and a game this year where he had 9 three pointers. He finished this coming year with over 1200 points.”
Girls’ basketball coach Mark Bray awarded Jalissa Espirito MVP. Bray says, “This player has been with me for 4 years. She scored over 1000 points in her career, averaging 17 points per game. She was all-league in her first tournaments.”
The boys’ soccer coach, Ramiro Rodriguez, awarded Angel Delgado MVP. Rodriguez says, “Wherever he’s at on the field, you can see it. All the time at practices and games, he gave it his all.”
The girls soccer coach Claudia Diaz awarded Alyssa Lopez MVP. Diaz says, “This player in our last league game she warmed up in normal clothes because she forgot her backpack. She is someone who is very disciplined and is always working all year.”
Wrestling coach Ralph Cisneros awarded Nehemiah Mayberry MVP. Cisneros said, “This athlete is one of the first ones to show up to practice, last one to leave.”
Cheer squad coach Angelica Quintana awarded Anabelle Holguin MVP. Quintana says, “Not only is she an amazing athlete, but her character helps us. She’s also an amazing athlete on the court, on the football field, and everywhere you go.”

The girls’ soccer team had an average GPA of 3.09, the girls’ wrestling team averaged 3.13, the boys’ basketball team averaged 3.19, the cheer squad averaged 3.24, the boys’ soccer team averaged 3.30, the boys’ wrestling team averaged 3.35, and the girls’ basketball team averaged 3.75.
The individuals who had the highest GPA out of all the other sports include girls’ basketball, Emma Rico, and boys’ wrestling, Jeshua Villarreal, and they averaged a 4.67.
