The DHS 2025 prom is Saturday, April 5th. If you’re thinking of going, here is everything you need to know about all the pre-prom rules.
- All students and guests must have a valid picture ID.
- Guests who do not attend DHS must also have a signed and approved Guest Pass.
- All DHS students who purchase prom tickets must meet eligibility requirements at the time of purchase. To be admitted to the dance, you must have a 2.0 GPA or greater, less than 18 negative attendance marks, and no more than 1 F.
- Students and/or guests must arrive at prom no later than 9:30 pm. No students or guests will be admitted after that time.
- All school rules will be enforced at the dance, including no violence or any other disruptive behavior. The administration on duty will deal with these types of situations. If alcohol or drugs are involved, parents will be notified and asked to pick up their child. Otherwise, the DHS student and/or guest will be turned over to the local Police Department if they are unable to make contact with the parents. Students or guests who are asked to leave will not receive a refund for their ticket.
- Students who misbehave at the prom will also be held accountable with school-related punishments. After returning to school, the student may be suspended and placed on a behavior contract.
- Inappropriate physical contact will not be tolerated. Only face-to-face dancing is acceptable; back-to-front dancing is not. Also, inappropriate touching and other prolonged public displays of affection are not permitted.
- While dressing up is a big part of attending prom, some dress code policies will be observed. Prom dresses with strapless/spaghetti straps are acceptable. Dresses may be backless as long as they are not cut below the waistline. Shoes must be worn at all times. Ladies may be asked to show their dresses to any female counselor or administrator. Gentlemen are required to dress in appropriate formal attire, wearing collared shirts, suits, or tuxedos. If a hat is wanted, only full-brim hats are allowed.
- Prom tickets will be priced around $65 from March 17th to 21st, $75 from the 24th to 28th, and $85 on the 31st and April 4th. Fellow students, make sure to buy your prom ticket before prices increase!
