The 8th-grade expo is an annual event where middle school students from Washington Intermediate and Monson Sultana visit Dinuba High School to explore the campus they will be attending in the fall. Despite the cold and rainy weather, the 8th graders made the most of it.

This year’s expo was very exciting as students had the opportunity to tour the brand-new Dinuba High School. “I’m excited for our upcoming 9th graders to have the opportunity to come here to the new high school; they’ll get a chance to not only see the campus but also some of our career technical education buildings, so it’s pretty cool. It is really special that this is the first one here at the new campus,” Mr. Popp shared.
When asked about their thoughts on the new campus, one student shared, “I’m super excited to come to the new high school!”
Students enjoyed breakfast in the new cafeteria and tasted the school’s new breakfast menu items. After asking many students, some fan favorites were the big breakfast platter, which included eggs, sausage, country potatoes, pancakes, fruit, and a yogurt parfait.
To make things more engaging, Activities Director Erin Tobias made an elective bingo card that encouraged students to visit all the elective possibilities available to them. At each elective stand, students had to get a signature to be entered in a raffle. Students explored a variety of electives available at Dinuba High. Many showed particular interest in both the construction and medical pathways.
As the event wrapped up, students left with a better understanding of what to expect for the fall semester. The 8th expo not only gave them a glimpse into their future campus but also new opportunities for them at the new Dinuba High School.
