The past few weeks, students have been in the process of performing their AP exams. The exams take place at the old Dinuba High School campus, and teachers inform students of their assigned testing rooms ahead of time. Students are required to arrive by 7:45 AM, with the exam starting promptly at 8:00 AM. Breakfast and snacks are provided, and those who need transportation will take Bus “00”, which returns students after the exam.
All students are expected to bring a fully charged Chromebook and charger and report back to the new campus for the 5th and 6th periods. Missing the exam would incur a $54 fee, so attendance is critical. It is advised to show up, give your best, and finish strong! A decent score on an AP test can earn college credit, saving time and money later on.
On the positive side, taking AP classes and exams helps students build college-level skills and shows how important their education is to them. Preparing for AP exams also teaches discipline, time management, and critical thinking skills that help well beyond high school. But it’s not always easy. AP exams can bring stress and pressure. Students often feel overwhelmed by balancing homework, studying, and other classes. The thought of one test affecting your future can be frustrating, and burnout is a real challenge.
That is why it is important to remember: you’re more than your score. Whether you earn a 5 or a number less, the hard work and dedication you’ve put in has already made you stronger. Take pride in the effort, and don’t forget to take care of yourself along the way.
