This recognition is evidence of their outstanding academic performance and commitment to extracurricular activities and community service. Achieving Block D requires an exact combination of high academic standards and active participation in school programs, setting these students apart as true leaders and scholars.

To qualify for Academic Block D, students must maintain an overall GPA of 3.5 or higher, with no D’s or F’s on their record. And an impressive attendance rate of approximately 95%. Beyond academics, students must also dedicate themselves to one of several extracurricular activities. These activities and their requirements range from athletics (at least one successful sport season each year), academic decathlon (complete 2 out of 4 years), ASB (about 40 service hours each year), drama (including two productions), Med/HOSA (containing 25 hours of community service per year), ROTC (including 15 hours of community service hours, drill or color guard, and three drill/field meets), National History Day (containing 2 years state or local level), FFA (being a good standing Member), and choir/band (2 years + 10 hours of help). Also including, (completion of choir concert). Skills USA requires 20 hours of community service and regional or state competition to qualify.
