The 2025-26 school year began with the annual Icebreaker event, held on Friday, August 15th.
This year’s theme was “Under the Sea.” As students walked in, the campus was beautifully decorated with ocean blue decorations, shimmering streamers, and creative details that tied the whole look together. The theme created the perfect backdrop for everyone to take pictures, hang out with friends, and enjoy a night to start the new school year. Whether it was decorations, posing in front of the backdrop, or enjoying the night, the dance provided students an opportunity to get to know one another better, make new friends, and feel welcome as incoming students.
The music kept the energy going, filling the campus with a fun beat as multiple friend groups and students gathered around to start dancing and cheer each other on. The dance circle encouraged everyone to step out of their comfort zone and show off their moves, while enjoying the night.
For the incoming classmen, the event made it much easier to meet new people in a fun and exciting way. However, for returning classmates, it was a fun way to reconnect with friends after a long summer break and make new memories.
Overall, this year’s Icebreaker dance was an absolute hit. It was a fun and exciting way to dive into the new school year. The event set the mood for what’s ahead and told students that school doesn’t just have to be about classes and work, but also friendship and fun.
