Last Friday and Saturday (9/12-9/13), the Golden West boys water polo tournament was held, the first tournament of our season! Our boys participated in four games against Mission Oak, Centennial, Mt. Whitney, and Exeter, their record being 1-3, beating Centennial 8-4. Each game was a battle with the scores being between 2 and 6 points.
Their first game was against Mission Oak, where they fought hard but unfortunately came up short, 6-10. This loss did not dampen their fighting spirit, as they went on to win their next game against Centennial by four points. The top performers of both games were Evan Meza (team captain) with eight combined goals and Magnuss Janbergs (goalie) with eight assists and 20 saves from both games! The boys had been anticipating a win in this game and did not disappoint!

The last two games against Mt. Whitney and Exeter ended in defeat on Dinuba’s side, with the scores being 8-10 (Mt. Whitney) and 8-14 (Exeter). The top two scorers of these games were Luca Lichtenwaldt (team captain) with four goals against Mt. Whitney and Troy Ballinger with 4 goals against Exeter! And a special shout-out to Magnuss Janbergs for being selected as the Dinuba Player of the Game for the game against Exeter High School with 18 saves and four assists! (MaxPreps) Great job, boys!

This team has continued to show outstanding teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the beginning of this season. They are improving every day as they look forward to the rest of the season.
Come out and support the boys as they play Mt. Whitney again on September 17 and Mission Oak during league play.
