Sometimes we don’t have enough money to give a special someone a special something. So, I’m sharing some ideas I think are cute and simple that could be done for your loved ones. You won’t need anything fancy, you can use items you can find lying around your house for an easy but lovely valentine’s day gift!

DIY Gift Ideas
Valentines Box:
- Find a simple cardboard box
- Tape or glue colored paper over and around the box
- Cut a hole at the top or front side of the box (big enough to fit cards and treats)
- Cut out heart shaped paper and glue them to your box
- Lastly, fill up your Valentine’s mailbox!!!
“You’re the Jam!” cards:
- Gather CLEAR treat bags
- Insert cute valentine tissue paper
- Ribbon and yarn to hold the bag closed
- Mini jam jars (Must have)
- “You’re the Jam!” tags (Could make them yourself)
- Hand them out and watch it put a smile on peoples face!
Coffee Filter Poppies:
- Grab coffee filters
- Use Cherry Red Rit Dye or red Kool-Aid and water for the dye
- Dip Coffee Filter in the dye
- Lay flat on a rack to dry
- When dried, fold and scrunch carefully to give it some shape
- Use a small amount of glue to glue the center of TWO coffee filters
- Cut a 6 inch of any color pipe cleaner and roll it into a flat circle
- Glue the flat circle pipe cleaner to the center of your coffee filters
- Twist THREE green pipe cleaners together
- Use Hot glue to glue the green pipe cleaners TO THE BACK of the coffee filters
- Lastly, arrange the poppies in a bud vase!
Ruffled Valentine’s Candy Jar
- Write loving words and add decoration on to a mason jar with markers or paint
- Get seasonal fabric and cut a 1 inch wide strip
- With a thread and needle sew a loose and long stitch along the edge of the fabric
- Leave lengths of thread at either end (IMPORTANT)
- Pull on the fabric and that extra thread at the end to give the fabric a ruffle or scrunching effect
- Tie the ruffle at the top and around the jar
- Fill with any choice of candy!!!
Iron-on Dishtowel Love Message (Computer and Printer needed!)
- Design any image on your computer
- Print on an iron-on transfer paper
- Cut out your image
- Iron on a smooth cotton dish towel for a couple of seconds
- Show your loved one the masterpiece you created for them!
