Why Flowers?
Flowers are a seasonal thing; people get them on birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions. But when are they the most popular? Valentine’s Day. Guys and girls worldwide tend to receive flowers today, and children often get flowers from their parents or friends who picked a small yellow flower from the field.
Dinuba High School students often get flowers for their loved ones or friends this time of the year. DHS Floriculture holds an annual fundraiser specifically for Valentine’s Day. “It’s one of the biggest fundraisers Floriculture can do,” one of the Business Floral students stated.
Logistics
While this is just an annual time-of-the-year type of fundraiser, different materials do tend to go into it. A few are the flowers themselves, ribbons, clear wraps, and vases. More often than not, different colored papers will also go into these. For example, the chances of the small bouquet in this year’s arrangement can come with white and pastel-like colored paper wrapped around it to secure the arrangement properly.
For the Floriculture class, the money raised from this fundraiser goes into the profits for more flowers for the class to use since flowers tend to cost more than what a person could get from a local grocery store like Walmart or the fake flowers that could be found at Dollar Tree or Family Dollar.
Plans For The Future
Depending on how the years continue to go, some Business Floral students think that this annual Valentine fundraiser can expand and grow beyond what it already is. From small single purchases to even bigger ones, it all comes down to what happens and what Mrs. Kariann Wilterding comes up with for it.
