The 2025 Emmy Awards were this past weekend, and it delivered an unforgettable night of emotional speeches, record-breaking moments, and unexpected wins. From surprise victories to bold political statements, here are the big moments that have everyone talking.
Stephen Colbert became emotional during his acceptance speech for Outstanding Talk Series, as Colbert reflects on the recent cancellation of “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.” Colbert recalled starting The Late Show, hoping it would be about love, but realizing it had also become about loss. Colbert expresses that you often only know how much you love something when you face the possibility of losing it.
On the other hand, in a bold acceptance speech when she received the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for “Hacks,” Hannah Einbinder started by thanking her co-star, Jean Smart. But by the end of the speech, it got political as Einbinder expressed her views by stating, “Go birds, f*** ICE, free Palestine.” This one statement was censored for television viewers, but it had everyone talking.

Rogen himself won four Emmys. In one speech, he said, “I so could not wrap my head around this happening, but I literally prepared nothing,” adding, “I never won anything in my life.” As Rogen was surprised at the wins for this role in ‘The Studio’.
