On November 22, 1995, Pixar, co-produced by Disney, introduced its first-ever CGI-animated feature film, Toy Story. This film has been my favorite movie since I was a child. I love it because it’s funny, heart-warming, and very classic. It features comedy, adventure, action, and humor through its main characters, Woody and Buzz Lightyear. Not only was it the first Disney-Pixar movie, it was also the first movie to have this computer-animated style.
Toy Story gave an extreme impression to America, which led to its sequel. Toy Story 2, released in 1999. It debuted Jessie, another favorite character, and Bullseye the horse. Toy Story 3 (2010) debuted the toys’ new owner, Bonnie, as their original owner, Andy, leaves for college. Toy Story 4 (2019), arguably the most heart-warming of the franchise, is where Woody is reunited with Bo Peep, who first appeared after the second film, as the third film mentions that she was permanently sold. In the end, Woody became a lost toy due to the reconnection between him and Bo Peep.
Minor characters, such as Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, Slinky Dog, Hamm the Pig, Rex the Dinosaur, and the Aliens, were good-hearted to the main characters. Soon, more toys were introduced in other sequels, especially in short films.
Right now, we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the film with four installments and preparing for an upcoming fifth installment in the summer of 2026.
