As a student at Dinuba High School, testing season is something we’re all familiar with, and now it’s officially here. With CAASPP testing right around the corner, students across campus are preparing to show what they’ve learned throughout the year in subjects like Science, Math, and English.
The testing schedule is organized to keep everything running smoothly:
- Science: April 16th (Periods 1-6 schedule)
- Math: April 21st (Periods 1-3) and April 23rd (Periods 4-6)
- English: April 28th (Periods 1-3) and April 30th (Periods 4-6)

Testing begins at 8:43 AM and continues until 11:10 AM, so having a clear schedule helps students stay organized, know when they’re testing, and be fully prepared for each day. It is said that on Wednesday, our testing teachers will be released and available to see on the DHS Network!
From a student’s perspective, testing season can feel stressful, but it’s also a chance to prove how much we’ve grown. Teachers have been preparing us for months, reviewing material and helping us feel more confident. Around campus, you can definitely feel the shift–more focus in classrooms, reminders about testing, and everyone starting to take things a little more seriously.
Preparing and Being Ready
Honestly, being prepared makes a huge difference. As students, we know that showing up tired or unprepared just makes testing harder. Getting enough sleep the night before is one of the biggest things–it’s way easier to focus when you’re not exhausted. Eating breakfast also helps a lot, and luckily, the school provides it before testing starts.
Something else that helps is just having the right mindset. It’s easy to get nervous, but going into the test calm and confident can really change how you perform–especially during those long testing hours that last until 11:10. Taking your time, reading questions carefully, and not rushing through it are all things teachers remind us to do–and they actually help.
Another big part of being ready is just being responsible and following these important reminders:
- Arrive at school early so you’re not rushing
- Report directly to your assigned testing classroom
- Bring any required materials and be ready to begin on time
- Stay focused and avoid distractions during testing
- Try your best and use all the time given
At the end of the day, CAASPP testing is more than just another test–it’s a reflection of the hard work we’ve put in all year. As students at Dinuba High School, we’re ready to step up, stay focused, and give it our all. Testing season might be challenging, but it’s also a chance to succeed and show what being an Emperor is all about.
