In April, Autism will be celebrated and honored. While normal people are just normal, autistic people are different. I know what Autism is. It’s like a rare genetic condition where people like me are struggling to socialize with other people and prefer to be alone. I have autism, and I don’t usually say that I’m lonely. My brain works differently. I was isolated from people yet, I barely feel loneliness. Plus, I immediately despise loud noises. Also, I make strange body movements, like moving my arms up and down or walking back and forth.
It’s sometimes called “Autism Spectrum.” It’s a different saying than “autism,” but it’s the same condition. People can help us by trying to teach us how to socialize with others. Some of us do make a few friends, but many don’t. For me, although people like me, I still prefer to fly solo.
But even though I am different, I’m quite smart. In fact, most autistic people are. The moment school begins, I would do nothing but do classwork and studies. Some people with autism might be called “a gifted genius,” or so I thought. School is like a place where we can be good and smart. While some students with autism thought school would be difficult and were homeschooled, many others, including me, think it’s fine.
Being diagnosed with Autism means that you don’t always have to be different all the time. I mean, you can find a hobby you enjoy, such as drawing or collecting.
Being different isn’t a bad thing. After all, we are all different.
