As the weather gets warmer and Dinuba prepares for it’s Cinco de Mayo festivities, the Cinco de Mayo pageant coordinators were busy looking for the next Cinco de Mayo Queen. After the long wait we finally received the list! This years Cinco de Mayo Queen Contestants are:
–Amarii Diaz 12th grade
-Catalina Casimiro 9th grade
-Gisselle Hernandez 12th grade
-Viviana Delgado 11th grade
-Aliyah Gonzalez 12th grade
-Eneymi Gonzalez 9th grade
-Marianna Nino 12th grade
Last year’s winners were:
-Queen Paula Moreno (also voted fan favorite)
-1st Runner up Abigail Soto (also Miss Congeniality)
-2nd Runner up Melanie Ornerlas
We also had the opportunity to talk to speak with Paula Moreno.
“It was really fun to talk to all the girls I met, and I made a lot of friends over there, so that was really nice,” Moreno said.
She also shared that the pageant was a great learning experience and that all the activities that the contestants participated in really prepared her for the role of queen. “I learned a lot of communication skills…being a part of that program really helped me with public speaking.”
When asked what advice she’d give to the new contestants, she said, “Be as confident and as comfortable as you can be, just be a performer.”
Best of luck to all the new contestants, and we’ll see them soon at the pageant!
