Located in Los Angeles, the Getty Museum is one of many art museums in Los Angeles County. The Museum is filled with many, many impressive works of art for people to go and see, such as European paintings, drawings, sculptures, illuminated manuscripts, and decorative arts from the Middle Ages to the early 20th century.
The Museum is also home to a significant collection of Global Photography, and, on February 28th, several Art and photography students from DHS visited the Getty with VAPA (Visual and Performing Arts) teacher Mrs. Casandra Tapia.
“Dinuba High had never taken a trip like this before,” said Tapia. “It was a big moment for our program!”
Students who went on the trip and were actively in Mrs. Tapia’s class were able to take their sketchbooks or something they could draw on to sketch a few of their sightings at the Museum. “It was a true collaborative effort across all of VAPA, especially with the support of Photography teacher Mrs. Mimi Stephens, whose advanced students joined us.”
